  • A simple menu serving seafood don, but deliciously executed in all the elements. One of my favourite meals I had on my trip. Ordered just the basic don. It's served with a side of 4 slices of sashimi. There's a suggested way to enjoy the meal - start with the don, leave about a third left and they will add a light flavourful sea bream dashi broth (and extra rice if you want) where you then enjoy with the sashimi. There was a short line, about 15 min wait, just before 12pm. But there were seats available when we left. It is cash only.

  • Absolutely worth the visit. One of the best meals I’ve had in Tokyo. Tsujihan is known for its luxurious seafood bowl, but the real magic is in the final step—the rich, umami-packed sea bream dashi poured over the rice and sashimi. It’s comforting, elegant, and deeply satisfying. I visited the Kuramae branch, and I’m so glad I did. Unlike the main Nihonbashi shop, the atmosphere here is more relaxed with shorter wait times. The staff were kind, everything was beautifully prepared, and the flow of the meal—from sashimi donburi to dashi ochazuke—was simply perfect. Highly recommended if you love seafood or are looking for a truly Japanese culinary experience that feels both humble and luxurious. I’ll definitely be back.

  • Nihonbashi Kaisen Don has many locations in Tokyo. This branch less crowded than Nihonbashi and Muromachi branch. I arrived on a weekday around 11:30 a.m., but the seats were already full, so I had to wait in line outside about 15 minutes. I ordered the Matsu Course. (2500 yen, cash only) A bowl of Japanese rice topped with salmon roe, tuna, shrimp, whelk, geoduck clam, squid, herring roe, cucumber, green onion Extra crab, sea urchin and salmon roe. It was also served with a small plate of sashimi accompanied by sauce. Seafood in Don was incredibly fresh, light, and enjoyable. I could keep eating and still crave more. Toward the end, the staff added dashi broth to the rice, transforming it into a savory porridge. This's the best delicious dish I had during my Tokyo trip.

  • If you don’t want to queue for long, come to this branch! It’s another must-visit spot every time I’m in Tokyo. The flavors here are incredibly unique, and the part I love the most is when they pour the hot broth over the rice at the end — the yuzu aroma is so refreshing. And the sashimi with sesame sauce? Absolutely amazing.

  • This is one of the best meals I’ve had on my trip. Just a note: the soup can’t be refilled, the chef told me it’s one serving per person only However, the waitress made a small mistake . I was charged for an iced matcha that I didn’t receive. I only noticed it when I checked the receipt after arriving at my hotel But overall, no queue when I arrived :))) and the food was totally worth it!

  • Even the take out was so good, we went 2x during our week long trip. They only take 15~20 min to prepare and give VERY generous portions of rice. The broth is nicely bottled and an ice pack attached to the raw seafood. Amazing value and great for a picnic. 30 minutes after opening at 11am, there was already a line of ~10 people. They only offer bar seating, so it's very quiet and not suitable for large groups (hence the long lines). The dining room was VERY warm both times I visited, so no need to bring a sweater. My group didn't want to wait in line and I'm so happy they offer take out! We tried visiting the Ginza location last trip and didn't want to wait in line, so I'm glad we stayed close enough to grab take away.

  • I ordered the Matsu (松) level rice bowl, and it was excellent. Before we ordered the main dish, we were served sashimi with a delicious peanut sauce and hot tea. The rice bowls were gorgeous and delicious; the uni (sea urchin) tasted very clean. If you get tired of eating the rice bowl, you can ask for soup to be added free of charge to finish it off. To find the restaurant, look for the sign board outside, then go up the small set of stairs to the right. English menu available
